Question for you: what direction do you usually turn to when you exit your house? What is the direction that you face when you step out of your door every morning, or every afternoon, or every night? Which direction do you usually turn to?
The reason I'm asking about this is because the other day, Spirit stopped me and really made me pay attention to the direction that I face when I'm leaving the house. Your house is like your body, and when you step out the door into the outside world, it's like you are physically crossing one portal, which is your physical body, into the external world. And Spirit was like, Caroline, pay attention. When you leave your inner portal and you step out into the outer portal, which direction do you face?
So that caught my attention, and I stopped and I thought for a minute, and I was like, Caroline, hmm, what direction do you usually face? And it's not like I don't know, I just never think about it, because it's just one of those life things where people just operate like robots. You just get out of the house and you don't think about what you're doing. You just get out of the house and do the usual rituals that we usually do. It's just life. So I never really think about these kinds of things.
But Spirit made me stop and think about it, and I was just like, Caroline, when you leave the house, you usually turn left. So what does that mean? Because Spirit was kind of emphasizing to me that the direction that I face first thing, as soon as I step across the portal, my inward into the outer, my internal into the external world, meant something, and that I was to pay attention.
And for me, these types of things are very interesting, especially when Spirit is prompting me. And I love symbolism, and I love to connect dots, and I love patterns, and I get it usually. So I was thinking to myself: okay, the left side and the right side always have symbolism. The left side is more about your inner world, nurturing, receptivity, the feminine polarity. And the right side is the outer world, masculine polarity, action, things that are outward-moving, the external and whatnot.
And neither this is right or wrong. All of them work together, the left and the right. But the attention was being called to me, to what was really going on when I was leaving my inner house. What direction was I facing when I was leaving my inner portal, my house? Was I facing the left or was I facing the right? And I was thinking to myself: what does this mean? And Spirit was just kind of emphasizing to me: how was I feeling when I was facing that direction? How was I feeling when I was leaving the internal to go into the external? Was I feeling warmth? Was I feeling expanded? What was I noticing? What do I usually see? Do I usually see a nosy neighbor, a good neighbor, beautiful plants? What do I see? What do I notice when I'm paying attention? What's on the left? Because when you leave the house, and you're used to turning one particular direction, your body gets into resonance with one direction. That speaks of something. When you're always turning to one direction as soon as you leave your inner portal, your body is telling you something about how you are.
Do I feel like I'm operating from the left side of my life, which is from my internal? Usually when I'm leaving my house, is that my way of being? The left side, the internal, usually has these feminine qualities. These qualities of the starting of a creation, of a birthing. It's just the flow, the smoothness, the quietness. There's just the way the left side moves that is different from the way the right side moves. The right side usually has that action energy. It's energized. It's usually ready to go. It's more of a fire. And the left has this water quality to it. But they all work together.
And really nothing is right or wrong here. Spirit was just kind of asking me to notice and to see whether the direction that I face every morning, when I wake up and get out of my house and walk out into the streets, whether that direction reflects who I am, or how quickly that direction turns from left to right, from the inward to the outer. Because sometimes you turn to the left and then immediately turn to the right. And I was being shown how to pay attention to just the subtle things. And these subtle things are the things that sometimes move things. And it might not be true for everyone, because sometimes you're not shown anything subtle, and maybe it's not in your path. I'm just talking about this because this is just something that Spirit was emphasizing: Caroline, pay attention to the little things. Pay attention to the subtle things.
And if Spirit brings it to my attention, for sure I am paying attention. What direction do I face every morning? What direction do you face in the morning? Do you feel expanded when you leave your house, either to the left or to the right? Do you feel contracted? Does your body tense up and seize up? Or do you feel free when you leave your house, when you turn to the left or to the right? Is it dark in the direction you're facing? Do you feel any kind of warmth? Do you go down a stairwell? Do you go up a staircase? Do you walk right out into a parking space? What is the area like when you leave your house? What direction do you turn, left or right? And what do you see? That is the question.
So anyway, since I usually turn to my left, I found that really interesting, because the left side to me is much more me than my right side, even though both work together. I am usually more of this left-side person, this intuitive person, this person who loves to live more from the inner world, who loves to operate more from the inner world, who loves to receive much more from the inner world than the outer world. Who struggles a lot with the outer aspects of life, just like most of us do, but is more of this left person.
So this made so much sense to me. So anyway, what do you think about this? And also, let me know what direction on the side you face when you step out from your inner portal, your house, into the external world. And until next time, let's keep walking in whichever direction Spirit is guiding us. I love you. Bye.
