Do you have a fake crystal? Do you have a dyed crystal? Do you have an irradiated crystal like these ones? If you do, stick around because I'm going to be sharing with you some very interesting things about fake crystals, dyed crystals, and irradiated crystals. This video is a continuation of a series of videos on fake crystals, where I discuss what they are and what you should know about them before you start working with them or before you start wearing them. Because really no one has time to waste and we want to make sure that at least we have an idea about the type of crystals that we are using and how they are affecting us and whether they are working or not.
I have made a video on heat-treated crystals which I think is a must watch in this series on fake crystals and I'm going to place a link up here so you can watch that in case you missed it the first time. So anyway, the focus of this video today is just going to be on dyed crystals and irradiated crystals.
For those who have had the pleasure of buying fake crystals, what next? What now? You know I remember a time at the beginning of my crystal journey. I was so excited about buying crystals and I bumped into a vendor on the street who had an array of crystals on his table. I was so excited so I decided let me get everything that I can. So I bought a bunch of crystals which the vendor told me was turquoise, jade and smoky quartz. I was so excited about my stash of new crystals until a friend of mine told me that this turquoise was dyed howlite and this jade and this smoky quartz allegedly were fake. I was so disappointed to hear about this and I just kept thinking to myself, but I thought the vendor was so spiritual. He was so nice. How could he sell me something fake? I don't believe it. I was just thinking, oh my god, this person did not just sell me something fake. You know how we are in the beginning? Oh we are just so trusting of everything. Well that's what happened to me.
So since this happens to a lot of people, the question now is: is a dyed crystal effective and can you use a dyed crystal for your healing and your energy work? You know dyeing crystals is a common practice that has been used since ancient times to improve the color of some crystals, like for example lapis lazuli and jade. And it's also very interesting how sometimes it's just so obvious that a crystal has been dyed and you can just look at a crystal and tell that it has been dyed because of how unnatural looking it is or how bright the colors are. For example, if you see some of these crystals like agates or in some crystal geodes, the fact that there's something up with these types of crystals or that these types of crystals are dyed just stands out.
But don't get me wrong though. Dyeing real crystals to improve the color of the crystals is not a bad thing because the real crystal and the color can be used in combination for beneficial purposes. What I have an issue with is dyeing crystals to fake a crystal. For example, how they dye chalcedony and then they claim that it is black onyx or banded agates or even carnelians. So if you have any of these stones, you just want to be aware of this, that that black onyx might not really be a black onyx, that that banded agate may not really be a banded agate, or that carnelian may not really be a carnelian. Just be aware of this.
But like I mentioned, there's really nothing wrong with dyed crystals. They can still work because chalcedony is a member of the quartz family and it is still a crystal. The aggravating thing about this is that when a crystal is dyed and then sold as something else and you buy that crystal thinking that it is something else, it's very, very deceptive and it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth, especially if you're someone like me. Right? Yeah, no one wants to be deceived, especially when you're dealing with spiritual tools, because we want these things to work on our behalf. So we expect to be buying the real deal. Anyway, crystal lovers, just be aware of these types of things.
So what about irradiated crystals? What are these irradiated crystals? Irradiated crystals are crystals that have been exposed to radiation to bring about a permanent color change and sometimes heat treatment and radiation are used together. And like I mentioned in the other video, I hope you watch it, heat treated crystals are basically crystals that no longer have an energetic vibration. They're crystals that I personally consider to be dead. I consider them to not have any kind of life because the heat treatment has destroyed them and for that reason I just don't consider them to be beneficial to use for energetic healing work. And really this aspect is something that I as a healer take very, very seriously.
Anyway, some examples of these irradiated crystals are diamonds which are irradiated to create colors such as yellow and green, or some pearls which are irradiated to create colors such as blue or black, and even the common crystal smoky quartz, the very, very dark smoky quartz which is sometimes irradiated to create a deep black color.
Now that I have talked about this and you know something about these dyed and irradiated crystals, the question is: can you use these dyed and irradiated crystals? Yes. There are ways in which you can use these dyed and irradiated crystals in a very beneficial way and that is through the use of color therapy for healing benefits. Especially because different colors correspond to different organs in the body. So depending on the color of the dyed crystal or irradiated crystal that you are working with, they can be really great for therapeutic work that targets different organs of the body. They can also obviously be used for chakra balancing and also on your crystal grids. And of course they can also be worn as crystal jewelry with a specific emphasis on the energy of their colors.
What they must absolutely not be used for is as crystal elixirs. They are definitely not to be consumed. Do not make a crystal elixir from dyed crystals or irradiated crystals. Okie dokie.
So let me know in the comment section whether you have ever bought a fake crystal or a dyed crystal and how you use it. Or did you throw it away? Or what happened? Let me know. And also if you need any help working with your spiritual tools, send me an email at caroline@crystalstalk.com and in the meantime, let's keep it genuine, let's keep it natural. No fakie fakie. Until next time, I love you guys.
