Are you one of those people who don't smile, who always look angry and pissed off? Are you one of those people? Well, I know a couple of people like that. Never smile at anybody. Never acknowledge the person who walks into their presence. Never!
Hardly ever. Well, maybe never is too much, but hardly ever acknowledge the person who is in their presence. Or if they walk into someone's presence, they just look the other way, never make eye contact, never smile, never reach out to the other person.
People like this really make me feel uncomfortable.
So anyway, I decided to try my best, many years ago, to be the person who offers a smile first at the person that I meet. My thing is, every time I meet someone, I just never know.
I just never know, maybe that smile will change someone's life. Maybe that smile will comfort someone. Nobody ever knows what people are going through. So I made a decision a while back that every time someone walks toward me, I would try to smile.
Maybe I would smile at the person and just make them know that I see them. I know that they're there, and that I have to offer my smile and my warmth to them. And I would do that, like, many times.
So I know a couple of people that have totally, totally refused to acknowledge my beautiful smile. They just have refused to acknowledge it.
Every time I meet them, and I try to smile, or I smile at them, and they just look the other way and walk on by like I don't exist. And I'm always like, oh my gosh, you know that feeling of, really?
Did that person just ignore me for the hundredth time?
So I'm just wondering, in this video, what makes people so cold, so detached, so unfriendly? Are you that kind of person? Maybe you can provide some insight. Maybe you just don't like people generally. Maybe you're just unhappy.
Maybe you're just in an altered state of consciousness and you're not really in the physical plane, and you really have no idea what's going on.
You don't see the person who's walking in front of you, or sitting beside you, or in the same room as you are. And you're... who knows what's going on in your mind when you just can't even return a smile, a friendly gesture.
What's so hard about that? I mean, it makes me really, really sad, you know?
I think smiles can make the world go round. I mean, I've had some people smile at me and made me feel really, really, oh my gosh, like I was the business, you know?
But so I try to return the same favor, hoping to spread that energy around. But some people are totally, totally shut down, totally cold, totally resistant. They do not want happiness. They don't want joy. They don't want warmth in their lives.
I don't know what's going on in people's lives, and I know people have a lot to carry. Even I have a lot to carry. I mean, everybody has a lot of major problems.
But part of resolving some of these problems is to know that the universe is there to support you, that the world is there to support you, that there are people who are friendly, who are loving.
You know, you might think that you might be expecting love to come in some spectacular way, or in a certain defined way that you have thought about in your mind.
You probably think that love is going to come in the form of a mate that you pick, or that, you know... or, you know, in some form of package, or some money, or...
I mean, you might have certain expectations of how you want the universe to show you that you're loved and cared for, but the universe is always full of surprises.
So people will come into your life, flash a smile, extend their warmth and their kindness toward you, so you can know that you're not alone.
So maybe it's just time to just open up and try to see the beauty in things. Stop and smell the roses, you know? Participate in the kindness that is being offered to you. Smile back.
I mean, it will break the barrier, shift that energy of not wanting to smile and be happy. Acknowledge people. I mean, it really does make people uncomfortable to be around someone who's constantly unhappy, someone who doesn't smile.
It makes people feel really horrible, ignored. Oh, my goodness. People, it's time to smile and make the world go crazy happy.
Leave your comments below. Maybe you can explain why you don't smile, or why people don't smile, or why you want to make that change. See you next time.
