Hi, it's me again! This is just gonna be some kind of rumble about something that caught my attention. Sometimes people can be so selfish and unkind. Really selfish and unkind, and it kind of bothers me.
Maybe I'm selfish and unkind too, because why else would I notice that other people are being selfish and unkind? But it really bothers me.
So the point of this video today is just to ask that people be more kind, and just think about other people and what circumstances they could be going through in their lives before you really become nasty.
I mean, sometimes most people don't mean it, but somehow they do it by their actions. Sometimes I just wonder. I've been in some environments where people don't even acknowledge the people that are within that environment.
Like, say you work for a company, and I'm not talking about monetary compensation as a form of acknowledgement. I mean just acknowledging the person who works in a company for who they are.
Just acknowledging that these are people, by just the simple act of saying hello to the people that you work with, the people that you see walking the corridors of whatever environment.
If you really have the capacity to acknowledge the presence of people, just do it. It doesn't cost a thing. It does not cost a thing.
I mean, it really hurts me sometimes when people just pass people. I mean, how many times do I have to know you?
If I know you for the last couple of years, at least I expect to have at least one or two conversations, or at least a smile. But it's so weird how some people will just pass you without saying hello, without smiling.
And I'm not sure whether this is a cultural thing, or it's just me who's expecting much from people, or it's me who's not rising as much to the occasion as I really should, which I try to do.
I try to say hello to people every time I meet them. I give them a couple of tries, at least five times, and then I kind of get the point when someone does not acknowledge my presence.
And I feel it particularly horrible when bosses or managers or people who have employees don't say hello to them. What is the meaning of this? This is wrong. I'm sorry. I feel it's so wrong. And this is selfish and unkind and unprofessional.
I mean, what is someone supposed to think when their boss or their managers don't say hello to them? I think this is rude, but that's just one thing.
The other day I was just standing by, you know, there's a bus stop next to some kind of home that I think houses some people with disabilities or maybe drug problems or something like that.
And there's all of these people walking up and down, and sometimes I wonder, they want to say hello, but I can always sense the reaction of people when they see them.
People are afraid of people who are different from them, and people don't want to interact with them as normal, and people have all these judgments.
And I kind of understand that people can have judgments about people who are different from them, but at least be kind to people. Be kind to people when you meet them.
Some people have just fallen really down and under, for whatever circumstance, and we can't really make judgments.
We can't make judgments of people who have mental disorders, because unless you know someone who has walked in those shoes, or if you have experienced those kinds of things for yourself, then maybe you can treat people with a little bit of compassion.
But why wait to be plagued, or to know someone in those circumstances, before you can be kind to someone who is out of luck? What is so difficult about being kind to people? What is so difficult about being thankful for people?
Nobody knows how their lives are going to turn out. Sometimes just to say hello, just to smile. I mean, it's just the simplest things in life that are expected, or that are required of you.
And maybe you shouldn't really take it as a requirement, but when you're put in a position where you can be good to someone, be kind to someone, smile at someone, don't hesitate. Don't hesitate. It doesn't cost much.
And my thing today is really: say hello to someone. Someone might just be feeling very lonely. Someone might just be alone. Someone might just be really going through terrible times. Someone just might need someone to talk to.
Someone might really be just on the verge of something really terrible. So you never know what kind of impact you're going to make on someone's life.
They don't have to be perfect. They don't have to look like you. They don't have to sound like you. We are all humans, and everybody needs just a touch of grace, a touch of love, a touch of forgiveness.
Someone needs to see you smiling. Just make eye contact with someone. Make eye contact with someone. Everybody matters. Everybody is meaningful, in spite of their circumstances.
Just be thankful. Smile at someone. Say thank you when someone deserves it. When you ask someone for a favor and they do it for you, just don't take things for granted. Say thank you. Have gratitude in your heart. Have love in your heart.
And everybody truly needs a little love, and you can be the person who brings that love into their lives. So go out and love someone.
