Question for you: when the wind blows and you feel it or notice it, what does it mean? From my perspective, it means something. If you love to work with nature, you are going to love this, because I am going to share some cool wisdom about how to work with the wind, and how the wind works for us all the time. The wind wants to touch you, it wants to share its wisdom with us.

Do not be afraid of the wind, especially a breezy type of wind. As long as it is not blowing fiercely or gusty, it is all good. Those fierce winds have their place, but today I am focusing on the breezy winds. Mother Nature is an intelligent being, and anything Mother Earth does, anything Gaia does with her natural resources like the wind or water, is not an accident. When the wind blows from one location to another, it carries particles of dust, soil and energies from the places it has passed through, from far and wide, and brings that energy to you, to your city, to your community. Nothing is ever an accident. Whatever energy is supposed to reach you will reach you, and when it comes from nature, it is usually a good, loving, beneficial energy if you know how to tap into it.

Think about this from a higher perspective. On any given day, why is the wind blowing in your specific direction in a way that you stop to appreciate it? Why are you noticing that breeze and enjoying it on that specific day? There are scientific explanations for why the wind blows a certain way, but that is not what I am talking about. I am focusing on the metaphysical aspects of working with the energy of nature, of the earth, as part of the spiritual tools we can use in this life.

Everything in nature is in perfect order, including the wind. Even when we are not conscious of the higher workings of things, things happen the way they need to happen. On a higher level, nothing just happens. Some people do not agree with that, and that is okay. People believe what they need to believe until they do not believe those things anymore.

In the last many months, being away from the city and more focused on nature, I have really come to appreciate the power and energy of the wind, the breath of Mother Earth, and how nature helps us. It has been so humbling. I truly respect nature's wisdom and the earth's love for us, and how powerful it can be if we work with it consciously to nurture, heal and transform ourselves. The beauty is that the best things in life are free. Nature is free. If we utilize this free energy, we have another spiritual tool to help us on our journey. Mother Nature always has your back.

The wind is a messenger, and sometimes also the message. If you see the wind as a messenger, you will notice that when you work consciously with its energy, it brings a much needed healing or clearing message, information that symbolizes what you need to receive. When the wind is blowing in a way you can feel, ask yourself: what does it mean for me? What does this wind help me see about my life? The answers you need might be right there in the wind.

The wind helps to dissipate energies. It dissolves unprocessed feelings, scatters away energies in our auric field that do not make us feel good, the ones that cause tension and anxiety. You may have noticed that when you are walking and the wind blows through you, you feel so much better. The wind deals with those dense energies. If you are feeling heavy, tense, fearful, nervous or stressed, work with the energy of the wind to release that tension. Let the wind blow through you. Today could be a good day to go out and allow the wind to move through you. Feel the tension being released and blown away. Notice the anxiety calming as the wind blows through you. Even when you are not focused on it, nature just does its thing. Nature refreshes our energy. I believe it is good to be intentional about what we want, so we can really feel the experience of the spiritual tools we work with.

Remember that you are not alone. Even on days when you feel alone and unsupported, Mother Earth loves you, supports you, and will use her resources to support you. You can tap into nature to nurture yourself, relieve tension, and resolve issues in your physical body, anytime.

Another important thing when working with the wind is its direction and quality. The wind from the east has a reputation for gathering destructive forces and tossing them away. All directional winds mean something in many traditions and have a specific purpose on higher levels. The quality of the wind matters too. Is it choppy, scattered, or a smooth, consistent breeze? A choppy, scattered wind carrying dust has a specific energy. Since the wind is a messenger, that scattering quality might be a message that something in your energy is being chopped off or scattered away, telling you to allow it to be blown away so you can be free. If the wind is smooth and breezy, allow that smooth quality to bring consistency into your life. It can be that simple.

The wind also connects us to our spirit animals, which is wonderful for those who work with animal energies. There is so much spirit medicine in the creatures of the earth: bears, elks, wolves, turtles, lions, owls. Many people have totem animals as spirit guides. Since most humans do not have direct access to these animals, one way to connect with their qualities, their strength, power and survival instinct, is through the wind, which contacts the energies of these animals and carries that energy for miles, depositing it where it is needed. Mother Earth knows what we need and uses the wind to carry the energy of spirit animals to people who need it most. The wind really is a messenger bringing nurturing support.

On a windy, breezy or blustery day, position yourself to experience the wind blowing through you, clearing your energy, healing you, relieving tension. If you cannot get out into the wind, get some part of you out there. Reach your hand out, like putting your hand out of a car window to feel the breeze. Or just open a window and let the wind blow in. Do you work with the wind energetically? How does the wind support you? Let me know in the comments. Until next time, I love you, and stay breezy.
